My print & cut isn’t accurate. How can I improve this?

My laptop has Bluetooth, but my Cameo won’t connect. Any idea why?

The Silhouette machines require Bluetooth 4.0 and not all laptop or PCs support Bluetooth 4.0, many only support older versions. You can find more info on Bluetooth requirements and optional Bluetooth adapters at this link.

How can I test my blade?

With a good blade, you should be able to cut standard copier paper mounted on a cutting mat with a blade set to 1 and force set to 10. If more blade or force is required, then it is normally a sign that the blade tip has chipped or started to wear.

Which blades are best for vinyl and Heat Transfer material?

Whilst the auto-blades are a general-purpose blade that can be used to cut lots of different materials, for repeat cutting of vinyl and heat transfer materials, we find the manual/ratchet blades more suitable as they give more blade control and a more consistent cut.

My machine and/or software has started behaving strangely and isn’t working as it previously did. What could this be?

If the software crashes, or fails to shutdown correctly, it can lead to a corrupt preference file which can then cause the software or cutter to function incorrectly. If this happens, we’d recommend resetting the software back to factory defaults. Open the Silhouette Studio software, go to the Edit menu > Preferences > Advanced, click the ‘Restore Factory Defaults’ button, click continue and then close & restart the software.
